Summary:
Maddie Moore's whole life needs a makeover.
In one fell swoop, Maddie loses her boyfriend (her decision) and her job (so not her decision). But rather than drowning her sorrows in bags of potato chips, Maddie leaves L.A. to claim the inheritance left by her free-spirited mother-a ramshackle inn nestled in the little coastal town of Lucky Harbor, Washington.
Starting over won't be easy. Yet Maddie sees the potential for a new home and a new career-if only she can convince her two half-sisters to join her in the adventure. But convincing Tara and Chloe will be difficult because the inn needs a big makeover too.
The contractor Maddie hires is a tall, dark-haired hottie whose eyes-and mouth-are making it hard for her to remember that she's sworn off men. Even harder will be Maddie's struggles to overcome the past, though she's about to discover that there's no better place to call home than Lucky Harbor.

Carla's Review:
I really like Jill Shalvis. Her books are always well written and fun to read. Simply Irresistible is probably my favorite book from the author.
In Simply Irresistible we are introduced to Maddie Moore who, after losing her job and breaking up with her boyfriend decides she is ready for a new start. Maddie and her two sisters have inherited an inn in Lucky Harbor from their mother and even thought the inn needs a lot of work Maddie decides she wants to give it a try.
Maddie sees the potential of a new home in the inn and she’s willing to fight for in. All she has to do is convince her sisters the inn can be rehabilitated. A task that’s not as easy as one might think.
Not only Maddie has to fight for the inn she also has to fight to control the attraction she feels for Jax Cullen, the master carpenter she hires. Maddie has sworn off all men but staying away from Jax is not an easy task!
Maddie is a great main character. She’s clumsy, smart and sweet and also a little bit damaged. All in all she’s very entertaining and it was great reading about her taking control of her life.
Now, Jax Cullen is definitely my favorite character. He’s just swoon-worthy! He’s intelligent, kind and patient. Maddie describes him as being some kind of superhero and, in a way, that’s fitting. I enjoyed the fact he was very patient and sweet with Maddie, helping overcome her problem. Plus, he had a big and lazy dog he adores. How sweet is that?
Maddie and Jax make a great couple. I enjoyed the fact Jax was determined to seduce Maddie even after she tells him she has given up on men. The chemistry between the two was almost palpable and it was quite obvious Maddie wouldn’t be able to resist Jax no matter how hard she tried.
The relationship between the three sisters was great as well. They are all very different and, even though they are constantly bickering they also love each other. They are hilarious together.
All in all Simply Irresistible is a very well written book. It’s also a fund and romantic read.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed a good contemporary romance. The chemistry between the main characters alone is able to keep you entertained.
