Charity Jones has always wanted to settle down somewhere she can call home and she is sure the town of Fool’s Gold is that place. In Fool’s Gold the number of women is much higher than that of men, and although Charity has been hired to find a way to bring in more men to the town, the town and its population seem to be exactly what Charity had been looking for.
Everything would be perfect for Charity is she wasn’t constantly running into Josh Golden, a famous cyclist and the town’s golden boy. Charity can’t seem to escape him and the feelings he awakens in her. She is sure Josh means trouble, though. Josh represents everything Charity doesn’t want but she just can’t resist him.
Fool’s Gold is definitely an exciting place populated by funny and interesting characters.
Charity is a good main character. She is a strong and determined woman. She is very likeable and very professional. She is just trying to settle down someplace she feels comfortable in so she can avoid making the same mistakes her mother did.
Josh is great as well. He turns out to be much more than he seems. He’s a genuinely nice guy, struggling with several different problems. His inner turmoil makes him a very interesting and complex character.
The romance between Charity and Josh developed very nicely. They felt attracted to each other but didn’t immediately fall in love, which I appreciate because sometimes the characters just seem to fall in love with each other too quickly and easily. Charity and Josh spent some time together before they realized they liked each other.
One other think I liked about this book was the fact that you get engrossed in the town and its inhabitants lives. You get to learn about the people living in Fool’s Gold and understand how the town works.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It is very well-written and the characters are extremely interesting and complex. I can’t wait to read the next book on the series and found out what happens to some characters introduced in Chasing Perfect.
I think anyone who likes reading Contemporary Romances will be able to enjoy this book.
